Students will examine and put together the Museum’s collection of wood piece puzzles from the 1920’s and compare to puzzles of today. We will discuss and create geometric patterns, and make a few different puzzles of their own to take home and enjoy!

The River of Jubilee Fellowship will be hosting an all you can eat pancake breakfast to benefit the River Of Jubilee Fellowship Youth Mission Trip to Dominican Republic. Help us Help those Who are going to Help others!

Amish Wedding Dinner

The South Minden Fire Department will be hosting a fundraiser for the Amish Schools this Friday, February 5th 2010 from 4-7pm.

This will be an Amish Wedding Dinner, served as an all you can eat buffet.  On the menu will be Moist and Tasty Chicken and Filling, Fluffy Mashed Potatoes, Delicious Chicken Gravy, Tender Cooked Creamed Celery and Creamy Coleslaw. There will also be beverages and desserts.

Takeouts will be available, and dinners cost $12 for adults and $8 for children.

The South Minden Fire Department is located on State Highway 163, just south of Fort Plain.

Open Exhibit – CCS Student Artwork

arkell_logo1The public is invited to an opening reception for a special exhibition of Canajoharie Central School District students’ artwork on Friday, February 5th 2010, from 5 to 7pm.

The exhibition featuring the work of elementary, middle and high school students will remain on display through March 28.

“Forming community/school connections is very important for art education,” said Canajoharie Middle School art teacher Michelle Egelston. “Having the opportunity to display student art work at the Arkell Museum and Canajoharie Library is so wonderful for my students and their families.”

Canajoharie High School art teacher Kathy VanLoan said her students are also looking forward to the show. “My students are thrilled at the prospect of having their work displayed at such a prestigious facility,” said VanLoan. Continue reading Open Exhibit – CCS Student Artwork

1020098_weve_got_a_winnerThe Bleecker Snow Rovers will be hosting a Poker Run this weekend. This charity event is to raise money for local fire departments and various benefits throughout the year.

The run will start at the Bleecker Fish and Game Club, 1110 State Highway 309 in Gloversville with registration from 9-12am.

There will be trophies, raffles and lots of fun!
