Explore the Capital Region’s rich history of locomotives!
Visit the Schenectady Museum and Suites-Bueche Planetarium and see models created by the American Locomotive Company (ALCO), model trains dating back to the 1910s, and color and black and white photographs from the Museum’s GE and ALCO photograph collections.
See iconic images such as tug-of-war contests between electric and steam locomotives, streamlined locomotives, and selections from a collection of rare GE color locomotive slides from the late 1930s.
The Schenectady Museum and Suites-Bueche Planetarium is located at 15 Nott Terrace Heights, Schenectady, NY. They are open Tuesday – Friday, 10AM – 4PM and Saturday, 11AM – 5PM
