The Soroptimists of Fulton County are set to hold their Annual Celebrity Chef Dinner on Monday evening, April 19, 2010 in Johnstown at the Holiday Inn.

The Celebrity Chef Committee has planned an entertaining evening around its theme, A World of Food.

The event will include an array of multi-cultural cuisine from area chefs and restaurateurs, musical entertainment, filled-to-the brim gift baskets for raffle, and an auction for some extra special items, including a Soropti-Chef themed dinner.

For those who like taking a chance on a big-ticket item, the Club is also selling tickets for a super raffle, which offers a chance to win a 32 LCD TV, a Wii entertainment system, or an 8 GB Sony MP3 player. Tickets are being sold now by Soroptimist members and will be sold at the dinner; the winning entries will be drawn as part of the Celebrity Chef Dinner festivities.

Anyone interested in attending A World of Food is welcome to send in a reservation. This year, RSVP forms will be available on the back of a flyer being distributed with the March newsletter of the Fulton County Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The flyer will also be available on the Chamber website http://www.fultoncountyny.org

Anyone interested in attending the Soroptimist World of Food event may contact any Soroptimist or Co-chair Denise Rupert at 752-5937 on or before April 10, 2010, to reserve seats for the event.

The Soroptimist dinner will provide financial support for the Club’s multi-faceted effort to improve the lives of women and their families.

Locally, the Soroptimists provide annual Women Opportunity Award scholarships for striving women, who are seeking educational credentials to a better life for themselves and their families, provide scholarships for youth people in recognition of their educational goals and good citizenship, support the Club’s annual adopt-a-family project, as well as giving financial and hands-on support for a variety of other projects, including its newest teen project, called ASPIRE (A Soroptimist Project to Inspire Real Esteem) that seek to improve the lives of women and girls in today’s fast-paced, demanding world. The Fulton County Soroptimists’ Celebrity Chef committee, comprised of Co-Chairs, Denise Rupert and Jennifer Buttler, and members Debra Finkle, President, Drue Wallach, Antoinette (Toni) Jennings, Barbara Taylor, Anne Krauth, Ruth Drake, Barb King, Debbie Sydney, and Sandra Peters, invites one and all to join us for this special evening event, beginning at 6:00 P. M. on April 19, 2010 at the Johnstown Holiday Inn.
