Beech-Nut and the Arkell Museum will be hosting a family day. Several collectors of Beech-Nut memorabilia will display their collections throughout the day in the Arkell Museum’ Great hall. Museum visitors will have the opportunity to view artifacts up close and ask collectors questions about their collections. Self guided tours of the museum’s permanent Beech Nut exhibit will be available. Four walking tours of the factory grounds will be offered throughout the day by company employees. Participants are invited to visit the museum’s classroom to color their own Beech Nut advertisement which will be assembled into a wearable pin. The Beech Nut Gum Girl will be on hand passing out samples of Beechies gum.
This event is free to museum members and visitors residing in the following zip codes: 12166, 13317, 13339, 13410, 13428, and 13458. For all others, regular museum admission of $7 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens applies.

Sounds like fun, but I can’t help feeling that the museum put so much time, effort & money into all the wonderful Beech Nut displays only for them to leave Canjo & relocate in the town of Florida. All the Beech Nut history here, leaving. Besides any financial & water bill problems Canjo is now going to face, I will miss the nostalgia of a factory being right in the center of town, as I feel it was a unique feature.
