Second Saturday of Each Month:
Bring a friend to the Canajoharie Library on Saturday, June 13 at 1:00pm in the Arkell Reading Room to play a game of chess. If you have been playing chess for years or if you are just starting to play, this group is for you. Children and teens in elementary, middle, and high school meet monthly at the library under the guidance of local chess enthusiast Jesse Dunkleberger. “This is a great opportunity for kids and teens to be challenged by meeting and playing against new opponents” says Leah LaFera, Librarian at the Arkell Museum and Canajoharie Library. Players are asked to bring a chess board along if they own one. No sign-up is required; this program is free and open to all skill levels. The Youth Chess Club will meet monthly the second Saturday of each month at 1:00pm. For additional information contact the library at 518-673-2314 or go visit us online at www.canajoharielibrary.org.
