This years Festa Italiana, held on Bridge Street in historic Southside Amsterdam, will have many events spanning 3 days with fun for everyone. Most events and entertainment are free.
Besides the tons of authentic Italian food and delicacies provided by Parillo’s Armory Grill, Shorty’s Southside, Marcellino’s Gelateria, Tonys Concessins and Ginas Foods, there will be an Exhibition boxing tournament, bocce tournament, and an Italian heritage showcases for children and adults. Live music including a traveling mandolin & accordion players, and other great Italian singers.
Friday: Cocktail Reception Kickoff. Starts at 6pm in the Salute! Productions VIP Tent, catered by Lanzi’s on the Lake.
Musical Entertainment by Peter Capobianco, a silent auction and a cigar room. Tickets are $25 presale and $30 at the door.
Saturday: “Day At The Track”. The Salute! Productions VIP tent will have an Italian Buffet and cash bar catered by Lanzi’s on the Lake. A large screen TV will be at the tent to enjoy the Saratoga races, and there will be Italian musical entertainment, and a few surprises! Tickets are $40 presale $50 at the door.
Sunday: Roman Catholic Mass at 10am followed by brunch catered by Rolling Hills Country Club. The Italian American Citizen of the Year award will be presented. There will also be a homemade meatball competition and spaghetti eating contest.
At Veterans Memorial Park will have musical entertainment headlined by The Joey Thomas Big Band.
Dinner will be a “Taste of Italy” to benefit the Avon Breast Cancer Walk in memory of Stacy Priamo.
