Fort Plain Street Fair Days

April 27, 2010
by

The Fort Plain Community Activity Council is planning a three day “Street Fair Days” celebration on May 13-14 and 15, 2010.

At this time we are still signing up crafters for the park and looking for groups to provide music at the bandstand.  For more information, contact the village office at 518-993-4271 and ask for Diane or Annette.

Durring the Street Fair Days, there will be carnival rides, craft fair and non-profit booths in the Haslett Park/Legion Street Parking lot area. Come and enjoy a fried dough, try your hand at a game of skill or ride the Ferris wheel.

Music will be provided on the newly renovated bandstand all weekend. On Thursday night at 5 pm will be the annual Pizza Eating Contest followed by a band concert starting at 7 pm.

On Friday at 6 pm we are bringing back the Fort Plain IDOLY contest.  Come to the bandstand to sing and compete for one of the fabulous donated prizes. After the contest, DJ Wayne Tucker will spin tunes until 10 pm.

On Saturday, starting at noon will be local musicians performing followed by the County Line Rebels Band at 5 pm.

Also all weekend, there will be a Village Wide Garage Sale. Participants are urged to signup early so they can be placed on the locator map which will be available at the Haslett Park information booth. The downtown merchants will be out on the sidewalks with their merchandise offering many street sale bargains.

On Saturday for the early risers, there will be a pancake breakfast starting at 8 am at the Sweet’s Bed & Breakfast House on Canal Street.

The carnival rides will open at 6 pm on Thursday and Friday nights. On Saturday, the rides will start at noon. Advance sale carnival ride tickets will be available at a large discount. The price for advance sale will be 9 tickets for $5.00 and on the field 9 tickets will be $11.00 with most rides needing 2 to 4 tickets. The tickets are available at local merchants.
