The Utica based ensemble Mohawk Valley Chamber Brass will present a concert at the Arkell Museum and Canajoharie Library, 2 Erie Blvd. in Canajoharie.  The performance, a part of the Canajoharie Concert Series, is funded, in part, by the New York State Council on the Arts.

The Mohawk Valley Chamber Brass is proud to be one of ‘Central’ New York’s only professional brass ensembles.  The Ensemble formed in the 1980′s, when Paul Bork (Trombone) and Loyal Mitchell (French Horn) had the idea of forming The Mohawk Valley Chamber Brass to provide ‘Central’ New York with a professional brass quintet for various functions and events.  Then in 2005, with the addition of some new regular members, Michael Fenton and Bert Bookhout on Trumpet, David Fox on Tuba, and adding Mark Case on Euphonium, the Mohawk Valley Chamber Brass expanded in size and sound to become a brass sextet giving the group a more versatile approach to brass ensemble playing The MVCB plays a wide variety of music covering every musical time period from Baroque to Jazz.

Tickets for the performance in Canajoharie, which are $7.00 for adults and $3.50 for children 10 – 17 by advance sale, are available by calling the Arkell Museum at Canajoharie at (518)673-2314.  Tickets at the door will be $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for children.
