In celebration of Elizabeth Cady Stanton‘s Birthday which is November 12th, the ECS Women’s Consortium will host the performance of Peggy Lynn. The singer, songwriter, historian will appear in period costume to tell the story of the American woman’s struggle to vote through the suffrage movement’s songs. She developed the program as part of her masters thesis collecting songs from the Library of Congress, Smith College, Vassar College and the Schlesinger Library.
The event will take place at the Gloversville Performing Arts Center on Main St. in Gloversville (The Glove Theatre) on Sunday, November 8. Doors will open at 1:30 pm and complimentary desserts will be available. Coffee and other beverages may be purchased to benefit the restoration of the historic theater. The 40 minute concert will began at 2 pm with time for questions afterward. Presale tickets are $8 and are available from the Fulton County Chamber of Commerce, members of the ECSWC or by calling the Glove Theatre Box office 773-8255 Ext 25. Price at the door will be $10.
