Canajoharie – The Canajoharie Palatine Chamber is pleased to announce the second annual Outdoor Holiday Decorating Contest.(some of last years photos can be seen here)
The organizers expect the contest to be even bigger and better than last year’s successful first run. This year new categories are to be introduced and registration and voting will be done on line. The chamber wishes to thank this year’s prize sponsors:
The new categories being added this year are
Kid’s Favorite: This category is designed to recognize those big colorful displays that are especially fun for the kids. Two local sixth graders will select three finalists for this category and then any child can vote for the winner on line. The prize for this category is $25.
Best Daytime Display: It was noted last year that some entries looked most beautiful during the day. Contestants will have the option of asking to be judged during the day to compete in this category. The prize for Best Daytime display is also $25.
The remaining categories are:
Best Business Display: The prize for which is a free membership in the Chamber of Commerce for 2011.
Best Door Display: $25,
Best Overall $150
and People’s Choice $50.
Homes and businesses in the 13428 or 13317 zip codes are eligible to enter the contest. Registration begins on November 26 and must be done on line at www.canajohariepalatinechamber.com.
The Chamber will create an on line map for the public to use to plan their viewing and their own judging for the People’s Choice award.
