Ah, the tree is up, the lights are lit, and the gift shopping has a good start… sort of.
Anyways, during these activities we have our collection of Christmas Music playing in the background. No Trans-Siberian or Da Yoopers here, sorry. But I have compiled my top 5 favorites from my collection. Let me know about yours!
#5 – Dave Mathews Band – Christmas Song
This is the first Christmas song, and may very well be the only one, that I first had NOT on a Christmas albumn…
#4 – Run DMC – Chrismas in Hollis
I first remember hearing this in the first Die Hard movie (always great Christmas Fare) and had to get the song…
#3 – Jack Johnson – Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
Ah, nothing like a surfer-turned-film-director-turned-musician remaking a Christmas Classic, with his own final verse added. Seriously though, love it.
#2 – Phantom Planet – Winter Wonderland
Never really heard of this band previously, but picked up ‘Maybe This Christmas’ album and it quickly became one of my faves.
#1 – Any song by the Brian Setzer Orchestra
Is it just me, or can you update any song into swing and have a great time with it?

I like all of these a lot but my fav is the original “baby it’s cold outside” and for a classic fav it’s “oh Holly night”
I always liked Greensleeves. I have a cover done by Vanessa Carlton thats just beautifully done.
No Yoopers at your house!!?! What a crime, what about Rusty Chevrolet?
“Grandma got runover by a raindeer” hehe just kidding
