Schenectady Greenmarket

The Schenectady Greenmarket returns to the outdoors this weekend for the season, and it’s going to be a celebration! The YMCA is sponsoring a bouncy bounce, Mr. Twisty is bringing his balloons,  live music, and more vendors than ever before!

Special Event: YMCA sponsored Bouncy Bounce Test your skill and agility on their famous jumping enclosure!

Miniature carp kites created by students will be given as thanks for donations made to the children of Japan, where Children’s Day is celebrated on May 5th. The festival involves hanging carp kites on bamboo poles; the Japanese deem the carp as a symbol of strength, determination and courage because it swims up streams and waterfalls.
Special Guest, 10-12: Mr. Twisty! Our favorite balloon twister returns until 12 p.m., providing entertainment for children of all ages.
Market Stage 10-12: The Slate Hill Band, an acoustic folk rock trio playing songs of The Band, Jesse Winchester, Emmy Lou Harris and some of their own compositions.
Market Stage 12-2: Fairview Avenue featuring three distinct lead singers, harmonies from two-part to four-part, passionate instrumental picking, original tunes from every member’s pen, and tons of enthusiasm and energy.
Community Table: It’s the first annual Circus Yoga Day!

Children’s Table: Activity with Schenectady County 4-H.
