A Family Fun Day was held at the East Hill School last Saturday.
Sponsored by the Canajoharie Middle School SADD, NJHS, Reality Check and the HFM Prevention Council, this day featured lots of interactive activities.
The event was run by the Canajoharie Middle School SADD chapter, with many students who volunteered organized events, to run booths, and cleanup as well.
Admission was a non-perishable food, donated to a local food pantry.
In the Cafeteria was the Cake Walk, a variation of musical chairs, where the winner got to pick a prize of a cake.
There was also goodies in the cafeteria with pizza, make your own sundaes and cotton candy.
The band The Dependents was also playing to the crowd. The band is a three piece musical group from the Fort Plain Jr Sr High School.
They were followed later by The Teacher’s Pets, a group of musicians from Canajoharie whose parents are teachers.
Booths were set up in the gym from local groups such as Cornell Coopertive Extension, HFM Prevention Council, Reality Check and Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter.
There was also a bouncy-bounce, a raffle for numerous gift baskets, and a visit from a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit.
In the Library, students were playing a Dance Dance competition, and local musician Gary Van Slyke was playing to the children.
Seen among the festivities was also the Easter Bunny, who took time out of his schedule to have photos taken with children in the Great Room.
It was a day of great fun, and some learning too! The turnout was tremendous, with parking going all the way to Maple Ave.
Enjoy the photos of all the fun!
