Stewarts Shops Holiday Match

Broadalbin Youth Commission Board Member and Fundraising Coordinator,Keith Buchanan, (left) accepts a $750 check from Bob Costello (right), Store Manager of the Broadalbin Stewart’s Shop. The funds, raised via the Stewart’s Holiday Match Program, will be used for Broadalbin’s youth recreation programs which serve over 500 children from the Broadalbin and surrounding areas.  Stewarts matches individual donations made in its shops from Thanksgiving through Christmas Day.  

The Holiday Match program is part of Stewart’s commitment  to donate 5% of its profits annually to charity.  For more information, visit Stewarts’ web site at www.stewartsshops.com.

Broadalbin Home Show Update

The Fulton-Montgomery County Home Show / Craft Fair will go on as scheduled Saturday and Sunday at the Broadalbin-Perth Central School District High School, in spite of recent inclement weather.  The event is being sponsored by the Broadalbin Youth Commission with all proceeds to benefit development of the new Town Park on lands purchased by the Town last year at the corner of Honeywell Corners Road and State Route 29.  The Show will run from 10:00am – 5:00pm on Saturday and from 10:00am – 4:00pm on Sunday.  Free Child ID’s will be provided on Saturday, compliments of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Dept.  Raffles will include One Ton of Wood Stove Pellets, donated by Terleckey Bros. of Amsterdam, 100 Gallons of Fuel Oil, donated by Midnight Oil, and much more.  Over 60 vendors will participate.  Based on the number of inquiries, organizers are expecting a good turnout.  A $3.00 cover charge will be collected at the door, with Children under 10 admitted free.

The Broadalbin-Perth Little League will be holding Player Registration Events for the 2010 season on the following dates and times:

Tuesday, January 26th 6 pm – 7:30 pm
Perth Town Hall, County Hwy. 107

Saturday, January 30th 9:30 am – 11:30 am
B-P Intermediate School (Entry Lobby)

Saturday, January 30th 1 pm – 3 pm B-P
Intermediate School (Entry Lobby)

Wednesday, February 3rd 6 pm – 8 pm
Broadalbin Village Office, Main St., Broadalbin

Saturday, February 6th 10 am – 11:30 am

Registration after these dates will not be accepted. Parents can download the necessary forms from the Broadalbin Youth Commission website, www.byckids.com/LittleLeague.html. The cost for the season is $40 per player.

Calling all Crafters-

1230018_laceThe Broadalbin Youth Commission is still seeking businesses and crafters to participate in a Home Show and Craft Fair which it will sponsor on Saturday and Sunday, February 27th and 28th, at the Broadalbin-Perth High School Gymnasium. 

Several booths have been reserved and remaining booths will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis.  The deadline to sign up is February 6th. 

Set up will be on Friday, the 26th. There will be a total of 75 (10′ x 10′) booths.

Broadalbin-Perth PTSO ‘Breakfast with Santa’

As you probably read here, Santa made his way to Broadalbin-Perth TLC last Saturday morning, where they had a breakfast of pancakes, eggs, sausage, juice, milk and coffee, a “Santa Land” set up for kids to do crafts and musical guest Gary Van Slyke. 

Dave Wallin-Eddy was there and was kind enough to share his photos of the event.

386693_its_chriiiisssstmaaaaasss_3The Broadalbin-Perth PTSO will host their annual Breakfast with Santa at TLC (Formerly the Broadalbin-Perth Primary School) from 8 AM until 12 noon. A breakfast of pancakes, eggs, sausage, juice, milk and coffee will be served from 8 AM until 11:30 AM. After breakfast families can visit “Santa Land” for crafts and games, visit the candy shop and gift shop, listen to music from Gary Van Slyke and visit Santa. (more…)

Broadalbin Holiday Parade

This will be Broadalbin’s 5th Annual Holiday Parade.  Festivities will begin with a tree lighting ceremony and caroling in Kenside Park at 6:15pm. Girl Scout Troop 2013 has once again stepped up to take responsibility for the tree. The parade will begin at 6:30pm at the High School, following the same route as last year. (Bridge St., N. Main St., School St., First Avenue, W. Main back to Bridge St and back to the High School) There are 30 entries so far, with more expected.   (more…)
