The Montgomery County Chamber is hosting a Business Mixer with Natural Bridge Farms, at the farms location of 778 State Highway 67E, Amsterdam.

This is an excellent opportunity to find the bedding, vegetable plants, and hanging baskets to fill your garden and beautify your home, now that spring is here! (it is, right?)

Russo’s 90th Anniversary – Photos

Last night the Mike and Barb Russo celebrated the 90th Anniversary of Russo’s Grill, on West Main in Amsterdam, directly across the street from the Walter Elwood Museum’s new location.

The restaurant was standing room only, as the place was packed with family and long-time customers there to celebrate the long-standing tradition of Russo’s Grill. In the crowd you would also find Amsterdam Mayor Ann Thane, Montgomery County Board of Supervisors Chairman Vito “Butch” Greco and 3rd Ward Supervisor Ron Barone.

Mike and Barb had also put out a wonderful spread of signature dishes, including a variety of pizzas, vodka penne pasta and handmade chicken tenders.

Deb Ausplemeyer, President of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce was also in attendance, and the chamber had a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the 90 year history of the restaurant.

John Russo came to America, hoping to bring some of Italy with him. In 1920, he opened the Mohawk Grocery Store. He ran the market until Prohibition was repealed in 1933, when he converted the building into a bar and poolhall.

CanPal Network Event a Success – Photos

The Canajoharie Palatine Chamber of Commerce held its first, of what is hoped to be a continuing series, of networking events last night at the Canajoharie Country Club.

 The speaker for this event was John Stahl, Growth Coach, discussing “5 Proven Ways to Grow Your Business in a Difficult Economy”.

Before and after the event, local business owners mingled as they enjoyed fresh fruit, various cheeses and other finger foods supplied by Melissa’s, from Main Street in Canajoharie.
