Cornell Cooperative Extension of Fulton and Montgomery Counties, in partnership with the Fort Plain Free Library, will offer its well-received energy saving workshop, Save Energy, Save Dollars, a free two-hour presentation exploring ways to reduce electricity and home heating bills through no-cost/low-cost means, on Wednesday, January 20, from 1:00 – 3:00, at the Fort Plain Free Library. By examining home heating, appliance use, lighting and hot water heating, participants will identify specific action plans that can work for them and save money.
Energy saving kits containing caulk, thermometers, plastic window insulation and more are distributed free to each participating household. The workshop focuses on low cost/no cost measures that homeowners and renters can take to start saving money and energy immediately. “Participants should come armed with lots of questions as the workshop aims to answer your questions about energy usage,” says Craig Clark, a Cooperative Extension community educator.
Save Energy, Save Dollars workshops are conducted by Cooperative Extension educators as part of the EmPower New York program with funding from NYSERDA.
