The 5th Annual Canal Clean Sweep is coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 16, 17 and 18, come be a part of it!
In recognition of Earth Day and in advance of the 185th consecutive navigation season on the NYS Canal System and the summer tourism season, the NYS Canal Corporation, in partnership with Parks & Trails New York, the Environmental Facilities Corporation and the NYS Consumer Protection Board, once again is encouraging community groups and municipalities to participate in this “spring cleaning” event along the Canal System and the Canalway Trail.

Montgomery County
“Bike Path Clean-up in Fort Plain”
Saturday, 4/17, 9:00 – 11:00 am
The Fort Plain Activities Council, Friends of Fort Plain and Fort Plain Pacers will clean up along the bike path between from the Lock 15 area to Canajoharie, about 5 miles.
Meeting place is the intersection of Rt. 80 and the bike path at the plaza in Fort Plain

“Parrinos Protect and Preserve” (Canajoharie)
Sunday, 4/18, 12:30 pm
The Parrino family, friends and neighbors will help beautify and protect the bike trail.
They will be meeting at Mitchell Street at the trail in Canajoharie

“Troop 2317 Canajoharie Riverfront Clean Sweep”
Saturday, 4/17 1:00 pm
Girl Scout Troop 2317 and their families to clean up the Canajoharie Riverfront. Bring your own labeled shovel, rake and gloves if you have them! Rain date is Sunday 4/18 at 1 pm.
Location to meet is the Riverfront Gazebo in Canajoharie
